Trailblazers Mentoring

Rebrand & Fundraiser Short Film

Trailblazers are a national charity set up to mentor young offenders in prisons across the UK with the primary objective of helping to reduce re-offending. Since inception over 20 years ago the charity had grown in size but had never made any significant investment in creating a coherent, stand-out brand identity. In recent years it had become increasingly more difficult to attract new funding and sponsorship opportunities and Rebel were asked to update the brand and create a consistent look and feel that would resonate with and attract its 3 core target audiences: young offenders, mentors as well as corporate and private sponsors. Working alongside the charity’s trustees we enhanced the brand’s identity and re-designed all brand collateral, focusing heavily on personal success stories to get the message across. A highlight of the project was our creation of a short film, which allowed us to follow and document the personal story of one ex-offender on his journey back into society following release. The film was shortlisted for the National Charity Film Awards 2019. The charity is going from strength to strength and have recently appointed MP David Lammy as one of its patrons.
